Does this sound familiar?
An associate wants to summarize client interviews before tomorrow’s workshop. The notes contain named employees and confidential plans. The engagement instructions permit public-source research but do not authorize interview processing.
Complete one useful task
- Describe the proposed use and identify the actual information involved.
- Find the engagement instruction, approved account rules and relevant processing conditions. Do not infer permission from silence.
- Ask the engagement partner to decide or escalate the request; record the reason and any conditions.
- Tell the associate which workflow is permitted and set a follow-up for missing information.

What counts as done?
The request has a recorded decision or explicit pending status, a responsible reviewer, and an instruction the associate can follow. Missing approval is still visible.
Examples cover internal research and advisory delivery. They do not establish permission to use client material or replace engagement and professional review.
